Travel to Muskegon

Muskegon County Airport (MKG) is a 15 minute drive from downtown. But know that it is only serviced by United Airlines. And with only two flights a day from Chicago, along with unpredictable weather in both cities, a delayed or missed flight leaves little room for error.

Gerald R. Ford Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan has much more flexibility; it features connecting flights from Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis (among others) and is just a 45 minute drive from Muskegon.

Both Grand Rapids and Muskegon airports feature Avis, Alamo, Budget and Enterprise car rentals.

Amtrak also comes into Holland, MI, which is also about 45 minutes away from Muskegon.

For those arriving in Grand Rapids (and Muskegon) who do not wish to rent a car, we will coordinate with you and in many cases can help with pick-up and sometimes drop-off. When you pay and register, you will have an opportunity to request a pick-up.

Muskegon has Uber, Lyft and taxi services - but options are not always plentiful.

And for those that are willing to land further away and drive a bit longer, Muskegon can be reached by auto from Lansing (1.5 hours), South Bend (2 hours), Detroit (3 hours) and Chicago (3.5 hours).
