Performer James Dangerfield has been named the recipient of the 2017 Porkpie Scholar Grant, for his original one-man show "When You Fall Down". The musical tells the story of Keaton from his first movie-making experience in 1917 to his signing with MGM 11 years later. The show follows Buster on seven separate days (One Week!) with original songs, slapstick and a soft shoe shuffle.

Dangerfield, from the North West of England, studied at Guildford School of Acting and has a degree in English Literature from Durham University.

Dangerfield plans to use the grant to purchase a projector and portable screen for his upcoming run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and wrote us "It’s really humbling that the Society recognises this piece of theatre as something which is authentic in its content and in its aim. Many many thanks to everyone."

And many hearty congratulations to James!
